What is a cold shrink tube? Cold shrink pipe generally refers to cold shrink cable accessories. Cold shrinkage cable accessories are made of elastomer materials (commonly used silicone rubber and ethylene propylene rubber) injected in the factory, vulcanized, and then expanded diameter, lined with plastic screw support to form a variety of cable accessories. For field installation, the pre-expansion pieces are put on the end or joint of the treated cable, and the plastic spiral strip (support) of the internal support is pulled out and pressed against the cable insulation to form the cable accessory. Because it is at room temperature by elastic retraction force, rather than like heat shrinkage cable accessories to use fire heating shrinkage, it is commonly known as cold contraction cable accessories. In the early stage, the end of cold shrinkable cable only used silicone rubber cold shrinkable parts for additional insulation, and the electric field treatment still used stress cone type or stress belt wrapping type.
